Spatial AD enhances traditional audio descriptions by linking sounds to specific spots on stage. Instead of general descriptions, it focuses on exact locations, like where dancers or objects are, using 3D sound to create an immersive experience. This way, listeners can follow movements and sense direction better.

In our demo, we track a dancing couple in a 360° video. Using Meta XR Audio SDK and FMOD, the audio descriptions follow the dancers’ moves. This technique makes it easy to hear and feel the dancers’ positions as they move across the stage.
